Dudi Efendi Karnawidjaya, head of the DJP Papua, West Papua and Maluku regional office, said that tax revenue realized in Papua province through October 2025 amounted to Rp2.93 trillion, or 49.08 percent of the annual target. The result reflects pressure on collection amid slowing economic activity.
Key revenue streams lagged, with non‑oil corporate income tax (PPh) delivering Rp1.08 trillion (48.19 % of target) and VAT and luxury goods tax (PPN and PPnBM) reaching Rp966.81 billion (26.28 %). Land and building tax (PBB) achieved the highest ratio at 70.28 % or Rp16.66 billion. Domestic VAT remained the largest contributor at 32.42 % of total receipts but contracted due to reduced government spending on goods and capital.
The office plans to intensify tax potential mapping, boost voluntary compliance, and expand coordination with local governments and businesses. These measures aim to raise tax contributions for the development of Indonesia’s eastern region.
