Balikpapan Collects PAD Rp973 Billion, Local Taxes Lead Revenue

Balikpapan city government in East Kalimantan recorded original regional revenue (PAD) of Rp973 billion up to the end of November 2025. The figure includes all tax and levy collections received by the municipal treasury.

Head of the Regional Tax and Levy Management Agency, Idham, said the PAD is mainly supported by local taxes of Rp917 billion, regional levies of Rp50 billion, and other legitimate PAD. The city targets total PAD and other lawful revenue of Rp1.2 trillion for 2025, with a local tax goal of Rp1.1 trillion.

Local taxes constitute the primary revenue source, prompting the agency to keep payment services open for taxpayers even during the cut‑off period. Idham expressed confidence that the year‑end target can be met, which will bolster the municipality’s fiscal position.
