President Prabowo Stresses Protection of Foreign Investors

President Prabowo Subianto urged all parties not to disturb foreign investors seeking to invest in Indonesia. He made the remarks while inaugurating the Lotte Chemical plant in Jakarta on 7 November 2025.

Prabowo said foreign investors are overseas partners whose capital brings benefits to Indonesia, and therefore they must be respected and welcomed openly. He highlighted that legal certainty and the rule of law (consistent legal framework) are needed to build investment confidence, citing South Korea’s rapid economic growth despite limited natural resources.

The focus on protection and legal certainty signals the government’s effort to create a stable investment climate, which is expected to accelerate national economic growth. This stance serves as a cue for both domestic and foreign businesses to increase investment in Indonesia.
