November 3, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

President Prabowo Subianto delivered a speech at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum held at the Hwabaek International Convention Centre in Gyeongju, South Korea, on 31 October 2025. He called for stronger empowerment of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the region.
Prabowo emphasized that economic growth must be inclusive, with government and private‑sector collaboration oriented toward a people‑centered economy. He highlighted Indonesia’s efforts to expand digital and financial access for SMEs and warned that smuggling, money laundering, human trafficking and drug trade threaten regional economic stability.
The remarks underline Indonesia’s intent to act as a bridge between advanced and developing economies and invite all APEC members to deepen multilateral cooperation for shared benefits. Concrete actions are expected to integrate SMEs into global value chains.
