OECD Forecasts Indonesia Economic Growth Five Percent 2025-2026
December 6, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The Organisation for Economic Co‑operation and Development (OECD) forecasts that Indonesia’s economy will expand by five percent in 2025 and 2026. The estimate appears in the OECD Economic Outlook, volume 2025 issue 2, released on 6 December 2025.
Growth is expected to be supported by low inflation, positive consumption and investment trends, a bilateral agreement with the United States, and the establishment of a new sovereign wealth fund, BPI Danantara. OECD also warns of downside risks from a slowdown in exports amid global uncertainty, China’s weaker growth, and possible capital outflows that could pressure the rupiah.
Should these risks materialise, the current‑account deficit may widen and currency pressure could intensify. With inflation projected at 1.9 percent in 2025 rising to 3.1 percent in 2026, OECD anticipates that Bank Indonesia may resume monetary easing.
