The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded Indonesia's annual inflation at 2.86 percent in October 2025, up from 2.65 percent in September.
Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics, Pudji Ismartini, said the rise was driven by higher prices for red chili and gold jewelry. The food, beverage and tobacco group posted 4.99 percent inflation, contributing 1.43 percent to the overall rate, while core components rose 2.36 percent, led by gold, cooking oil and powdered coffee.
All price components showed inflation, although the information, communication and financial services sector recorded a 0.25 percent deflation. The broad-based price increase may affect consumer purchasing power and monetary policy decisions.
