Lotte Chemical Petrochemical Plant Rp62 Trillion to Operate 2025

The Indonesian government confirmed that Lotte Chemical will complete a petrochemical plant costing US$3.9 billion (Rp62 trillion) this year, with commercial output slated for the middle of the fourth quarter of 2025. The announcement was made by the Minister of Economy in Jakarta on 1 November 2025.

Minister Airlangga Hartarto said the project is in its final construction phase and underscored the strategic Indonesia‑South Korea economic partnership, noting its potential to cut reliance on imported chemicals. The large‑scale facility is expected to become a key node in the regional petrochemical supply chain.

The plant is projected to boost national petrochemical self‑sufficiency, lower production costs, and stabilize downstream product prices for consumers, while opening export opportunities. This aligns with the government's push for high‑technology investment and job creation.
