November 5, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia's gross domestic product expanded 5.04 percent year‑on‑year in the third quarter of 2025. The increase was primarily driven by household consumption, which rose 4.89 percent.
Household consumption accounted for 53.14 percent of total output, making it the largest component of GDP. Gross fixed capital formation (PMTB), representing investment in long‑term assets, contributed 29.09 percent, while exports grew 9.91 percent, all components showing positive growth.
The data indicate that domestic demand remains the main engine of economic activity, supporting over half of the economy and guiding policy focus toward sustaining consumer confidence and investment.
