Government Strategy to Accelerate Economic Growth 6-8 percent

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa presented the government’s strategy to accelerate Indonesia’s economic growth during a public lecture on the 71st anniversary of Airlangga University on 10 November 2025. The event was attended by students, academics, and business representatives.

Purbaya highlighted the need for synergy among fiscal policy (government tax and spending measures), monetary policy (central bank actions), and private‑sector activity to strengthen economic momentum. He introduced the “Sumitronomics” framework, which focuses on three pillars: high growth, equitable distribution of benefits, and dynamic national stability. He also noted that domestic consumption accounts for roughly 90 % of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), serving as the main engine of growth.

The government aims for annual growth of 6‑8 % in the coming years, above the 5.04 % recorded in the third quarter of 2025. Achieving this level is expected to boost household purchasing power and provide greater certainty for businesses.
