Consumer Spending and Retail Sales Show Recovery, Says Finance

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said on 28 October 2025 that household consumption and spending are improving. He cited Bank Indonesia data showing higher retail sales and increased vehicle demand.

He added that consumer credit and the consumer confidence index have risen toward the 100‑point level, indicating stronger optimism. The gains reflect a revival of economic activity across regions.

Purbaya said the consumption rebound provides a basis for the government to accelerate economic growth, including encouraging job creation and new businesses. He also stressed that banking liquidity policies will remain supportive of consumer purchasing power.
