Airlangga Says National Car Project Under 300 Million Rupiah

Economy Minister Airlangga Hartarto highlighted the need for affordable pricing in the national car project during the Kadin 2025 meeting in Jakarta on 1 December 2025.

He noted that the largest market segment today consists of cars priced below 300 million rupiah, driven by government policy, and pointed out that electric‑vehicle sales rose 18.27 %, creating price pressure on conventional vehicles.

The administration will allocate budget for the project, aiming for affordable prices to boost consumer uptake and benefit from the price‑lowering effect of growing EV competition.
