A total of 18 judges from various work units across Indonesia were declared to have passed the competency selection for senior caseāsorting judges at the Supreme Court on 7āÆDecemberāÆ2025. Among them were two tax judges, Budi Haritjahjono and Dian Dahtiar. The selection assesses their ability to classify cassation and judicial review cases.
Senior caseāsorting judges (hakim tinggi pemilah perkara) are responsible for dividing cases into categories IāIV based on whether they involve a question of law (isu hukum) or a question of fact (isu fakta). After passing, the judges must complete a profile assessment via Zoom on 8ā10āÆDecemberāÆ2025, requiring a suitable laptop, stable internet, and support from an IT staff and a supervisor. This assessment is a prerequisite before official appointment.
A faster sorting process is expected to accelerate the handling of cassation and judicial review, giving taxpayers and businesses earlier legal certainty. The Supreme Court emphasizes its commitment to integrity, competence, and accountability within the highest judicial body. This implementation aims to improve the efficiency of the national justice system.
