Central Sulawesi Gains Rp115 Billion via Vehicle Tax Waiver
December 14, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The Central Sulawesi provincial government implemented the 'Berani Hapus Pajak Kendaraan Bermotor' scheme, offering vehicle‑tax exemption twice in 2025—first in April‑May and again from 19 November to 7 December. In the second round, 34,600 vehicles paid the tax, generating revenue of Rp32.99 billion.
The revenue comprised motor‑vehicle tax (PKB) of Rp23.62 billion—of which Rp14.22 billion is the province’s share and Rp9.39 billion allocated to regencies and cities—and name‑transfer fees (BBNKB) of Rp18.76 billion, with Rp11.30 billion for the province and Rp7.45 billion for local governments. The earlier April‑May program yielded Rp82.62 billion, bringing total receipts from both periods to Rp115.61 billion.
Taxpayers with outstanding vehicle tax can settle only the current‑year PKB without penalty until 20 December 2025, a measure intended to boost compliance and increase regional fiscal resources.
