Tax Authority Urges Taxpayers to Report Impersonation Scams
December 10, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) urges all taxpayers in Indonesia to promptly report any fraud that pretends to be from the tax authority. The official announcement, reference PENG‑50/PJ.09/2025, was issued on 10 December 2025. The scams may appear as messages or calls that are suspicious.
The DGT highlights the need for heightened vigilance as impersonation scams have increased, especially during the ongoing Coretax account activation drive. Common tactics include offering online activation assistance, creating authorization codes, or claiming to migrate data to the M‑Tax system. Tax officials never ask for one‑time passwords, passwords, or remote access to devices.
Taxpayers can report incidents through three official channels: the nearest tax office, the tax hotline 1500200, as well as email, the X account, the official complaint portal, or live chat on the tax website. Reports may also be filed with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs or the police. Public reporting helps authorities act swiftly and prevent further victims.
