JAKARTA, November 1, 2025 – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa called on the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance (DJPK) to proactively assist regional governments in managing their Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budgets (APBD). The remarks were made during the 79th Money Day ceremony. He highlighted the need for technical support to improve local spending efficiency.
Purbaya noted that only 51.3 percent, equivalent to IDR 712.8 trillion, of the total APBD of IDR 1,389.3 trillion had been realized by September 2025, indicating a 13.1 percent contraction from the previous year. Meanwhile, idle funds in banks rose to IDR 234 trillion at the end of September, up from IDR 208.6 trillion a year earlier. The figures come from Bank Indonesia and have been repeatedly verified by DJPK.
The Ministry expects that the assistance will accelerate budget execution and maximize economic impact and job creation. Ongoing monitoring of spending by the Finance Ministry will ensure public funds are used efficiently. This initiative reflects the government's effort to improve regional financial management.
