DJBC Receives 7,219 Fraud Reports, Online Shopping Scam Dominates

Indonesia’s Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) recorded 7,219 fraud reports impersonating the agency up to November 2025. Of these, 2,751 reports involved financial loss for victims, while 4,468 were thwarted without loss.
DJBC found that 61.8 % of the reports concerned online‑shopping scams on e‑commerce platforms, both domestic and overseas. The scams include love‑scam, IMEI unblocking, fake auctions and similar tactics that harm both shoppers and customs.
In response, DJBC launched the “Stop, Check and Report” program to educate the public, verify claims via official channels such as Bravo Bea Cukai 1500225 and the .id website, and file complaints with the Indonesia Anti‑Scam Centre. Citizens are urged to stay calm, verify information independently, and report any fraud attempts.
