The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) reported that in 2024 it resolved tens of thousands of tax disputes administratively. The resolution included 14,661 objection decisions and 376,161 non‑objection decisions.
The 2024 Annual Report shows DGT received 16,929 objection filings and 357,479 non‑objection requests, and ultimately settled 390,822 cases, a 20.2 % increase over 2023. To improve efficiency, DGT applied five handling strategies: monitoring and evaluation (monev) by regional tax offices (Kanwil), peer review, technical guidance and workshops, case‑guidance manuals, and faster processing per TADAT (Tax Administration Diagnostic Assessment Tool) recommendations.
Administrative settlement covers corrections, reductions, deletions and cancellations of tax assessments, while disputes not settled administratively proceed to the courts (appeals, lawsuits, judicial review). The higher settlement rate aims to provide greater legal certainty for taxpayers and enhance state revenue.
