Customs Investigates Companies Linked to PT MMS Export Case
November 7, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) announced it will investigate three companies affiliated with PT MMS, the primary suspect in an illegal fatty matter export case. The probe follows the seizure of 87 PT MMS containers at Tanjung Priok port on 7 November 2025.
Fatty matter is normally exempt from export duties, but laboratory tests revealed that PT MMS’s shipment contained crude palm oil (CPO) derivatives, which should have been taxed. DJBC, together with the police task force, will expand the investigation to affiliated firms to gather additional evidence.
A confirmed violation could result in significant revenue loss and affect the palm oil sector’s reputation. The enforcement action underscores inter‑agency cooperation to monitor exports and protect state revenue.
