JAKARTA – On 12 December 2025, the book titled Tax Reform Ideas: Safeguard the Economy, Secure Revenue was officially published. The volume gathers 40 essays from contributors, including the first‑place, second‑place and hopeful winners of a writing competition organized by a national tax news outlet.
Aqila Bagus Misbahuddin, the first‑place author, wrote about an excise on salty foods after observing health issues linked to high sodium intake. Rizmy Otlani Novastria, the runner‑up, proposed a comprehensive review of special economic zone incentives, benchmarking them against foreign practices. Nicole Amelia, the hopeful awardee, emphasized building trust between taxpayers and tax authorities rather than relying on intimidation.
The publication provides policymakers with concrete suggestions that could shape future tax regulations, including excise rates, fiscal incentives, and compliance strategies. Such reforms may affect state revenue streams and the overall investment climate in Indonesia.
