Yogyakarta Govt Needs Unified Taxpayer Data for Independence
November 4, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The B Commission of Yogyakarta DPRD is examining the 2026 regional revenue (PAD) because the city remains heavily dependent on central government transfers. The review was noted on Tuesday, 4 November 2025.
The commission expects continued central efficiency measures and therefore seeks ways to increase PAD. It highlighted discrepancies in taxpayer numbers for hotels and restaurants between the Regional Financial Management Agency (BPKAD) and the Tourism Office, and noted similar inconsistencies in other sectors such as entertainment, parking and advertising.
Commission member Munazar urged the DPMPTSP to create a unified taxpayer database to enable accurate revenue projections and targeted policies, which are essential for Yogyakarta’s fiscal independence.
