Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade, represented by Trade Minister Budi Santoso (Busan), announced monitoring of basic‑goods prices and stocks and a planned amendment to Permendag No 18/2024 on Minyakita distribution. The statement was made on 30 November 2025 in Jakarta ahead of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026.
Monitoring includes visits to traditional markets, where the minister reported that basic‑goods prices remain relatively stable despite approaching the Highest Retail Price (HET). The amendment will insert a clause requiring state‑owned food enterprises such as Bulog and ID Food to supply at least 35 % of cooking oil.
The measures aim to protect consumer purchasing power and ensure adequate cooking‑oil supply during the year‑end holidays, providing regulatory support for future basic‑goods distribution.
