Tax Authority Urges Coretax Activation for 2025 Annual Returns

Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto stated that from 2026 personal income tax annual returns can no longer be filed using the old system. Taxpayers are required to activate their Coretax accounts before the 2025 filing period that begins in early 2026.

The tax authority is providing education through channels such as email blasts, coaching clinics, and online simulations on its official website to ease the transition. The effort aims to reach about 13 million taxpayers with necessary information and technical support.

Coretax activation is a prerequisite for compliance next year; delays may hinder filing and could trigger penalties. The Directorate will continue monitoring and expanding assistance services up to the deadline.
