Tanjungpandan Customs Destroys Illegal Goods Worth Rp80 Billion

The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) in Tanjungpandan destroyed goods seized between 1 Oct 2024 and 30 Sep 2025, with a total value of Rp80.143 million. The seized items included 50,244 illegal cigarettes and 24 L of illegal alcoholic beverages.

The seizures were carried out under the “Gempur Rokok Ilegal” and “MMEA Ilegal” operations, targeting excise goods lacking tax stamps, which violate Customs Law No 11/1995 as amended by Law No 7/2021. Destruction was performed by burning or crushing the items after approval from the Head of the State Asset Management and Auction Office on behalf of the Finance Minister.

The action prevented an estimated fiscal loss of Rp49.663 million and underscores Customs’ role in enforcing excise compliance. In the same period, Tanjungpandan Customs recorded customs and excise revenue of Rp130 billion and a citizen satisfaction index of 3.96 out of 4, indicating high service quality.
