Otto Sugiri Says Coretax Should Simplify Annual Tax Returns

On 11 November 2025, Otto Toto Sugiri, CEO of DCI Indonesia, said he expects Coretax to simplify the filing of the annual Tax Return (SPT). The comment was made at the Public Consultation Forum, Taxpayers Charter and Taxpayer Award event organized by the South Jakarta I Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes.

Coretax is an integrated tax system that consolidates taxpayer and transaction data to improve transparency. Treasury Senior Advisor Iwan Djuniardi affirmed the government’s ongoing enhancements to Coretax, while Jakarta Governor’s Special Staff Yustinus Prastowo acknowledged implementation challenges since 1 January 2025.

A functional Coretax could lower administrative burdens, speed up reporting, and encourage voluntary compliance, thereby boosting state tax revenues. The resulting time savings for taxpayers may also support broader economic growth.
