NTT Offers Up to 29% Vehicle Tax Relief for 2025 Anniversary

The Government of East Nusa Tenggara province announced motor vehicle tax (PKB) relief to mark the province’s 67th anniversary, Christmas 2025 and the 2026 New Year. The incentive has been in effect since July 2025 and is extended through 31 December 2025. It is stipulated in Governor Regulation No.

The regulation provides five categories of reduction, including a 24.6 % cut on the PKB tax base and BBNKB reductions of 24 % for two‑ and three‑wheel vehicles and 29 % for four‑wheel and larger vehicles. Owners transferring vehicles into NTT receive a 50 % discount on the PKB principal, early payments earn 3 %‑7.5 % discounts depending on timing, and an additional 5 % discount is granted for payments via the PRO NTT app. For overdue PKB, vehicles manufactured before 2010 can reduce the principal by up to 20 % and all late‑payment interest and penalties are waived entirely.

The head of the Regional Revenue and Asset Agency expects the measures to raise the region’s own-source revenue from PKB and accelerate arrears settlement. Revenue data show increased PAD collection since the program’s launch. The tax relief also supports local development by strengthening fiscal capacity.
