NTB Province Waives Vehicle Tax Late Fees, Free Tax in December

The Province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) announced a waiver of vehicle tax late fees, a full write‑off of arrears up to the 2019 tax year, and free vehicle tax for vehicles transferred into NTB. The measures are effective from 1 December 2025 through 31 December 2025.
The program was introduced to mark NTB’s 67th anniversary and is based on Governor Regulation No. 27/2025 on Vehicle Tax and Transfer Fee Relief. It aims to boost tax compliance, improve vehicle registration data, and simplify procedures for taxpayers.
Authorities expect the relief to raise vehicle tax compliance and increase regional revenue, although contributions such as traffic accident fund, transfer fees, registration, plates and ownership documents remain payable. Services are available through the local Samsat offices.
