North Sumatra Tax Office Blocks 107 Guarantor Accounts

The North Sumatra Tax Office (Kanwil DJP Sumatera Utara II) blocked 107 guarantor accounts simultaneously. The action was carried out by eight tax service offices (KPP) on 8 December 2025.

The measure targets tax arrears of IDR 33.9 billion, in line with Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) No 61/2023 on tax collection procedures. Under the regulation, the tax authority may submit written requests to 27 financial service institutions to freeze funds equal to the debt plus collection costs after warning, compulsory, and seizure orders are issued.

Guarantors whose accounts are blocked are urged to contact the respective KPP and settle the debt to restore account access. This enforcement underscores the tax authority’s power to ensure compliance and may affect taxpayers’ cash flow.
