National Nutrition Agency to Close MBG Kitchens Without SLHS

JAKARTA – The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) announced on 11 November 2025 that all free nutritious meal kitchens (satuan pelayanan pemenuhan gizi, SPPG) must secure a sertifikat laik higiene sanitasi (SLHS) within 30 days or face temporary closure. The rule covers every SPPG operating under the Makan Bergizi (MBG) program across Indonesia.

The inter‑ministerial coordination team reported that around 4,000 SPPG have applied for SLHS, but only 1,287 have received the certificate, leaving roughly 10,000 SPPG still without registration. SLHS, issued by local health departments, confirms compliance with hygiene and sanitation standards and is valid for one year.

Vice Chairperson Nanik S Deyang warned that kitchens not registering within the deadline will be closed temporarily and urged SPPG heads to prompt partners to apply. The action supports the government's emphasis on food safety and coincides with the MBG program’s budget of Rp99 trillion in 2025, projected to rise to Rp335 trillion in 2026.
