Indonesia’s Directorate General of Taxes has become a member of the OECD‑run global property data exchange under the International Partnership for the Implementation of the Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement (IPI MCAA). The membership, effective in 2025, enables automatic cross‑border sharing of property ownership information.

The OECD states that the IPI MCAA aims to broaden tax information exchange, which has traditionally focused on financial assets, to include real‑estate holdings that are hard to monitor. OECD Tax Policy and Administration Centre Director Manal Corwin said the automatic property data exchange improves transparency for participating jurisdictions.

For Indonesian taxpayers, the participation gives the tax authority access to foreign property data, strengthening its ability to identify possible tax avoidance. The move also underscores Indonesia’s commitment to international standards to boost tax revenue.
