Indonesia Investigates Extension of Curtain Import Safeguard
December 2, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

Indonesia’s Trade Safeguard Committee (KPPI) has launched an investigation into extending the safeguard measures on curtain imports, covering curtains, indoor blinds, mosquito nets and related furnishings, on Tuesday 25 November 2025 in Jakarta. The extension request was submitted by the Indonesian Textile Association (API) on behalf of domestic manufacturers.
KPPI concluded that serious losses or threats of serious losses still affect the local industry, as indicated by declining production performance from 2022 to 2024. Import data for 2024 show China accounting for 71.23% of total imports, while developing‑country sources represent only 13.43%.
KPPI has asked manufacturers and importers to complete a questionnaire by 18 December 2025 and to register as interested parties in writing. The outcome will determine whether the protective import duty (BMTP) remains in force until May 2026.
