Indonesia Grants Duty-Free Import for

The Ministry of Agriculture issued a regulation on 29 November 2025 that exempts customs duties for imported seeds and seedlings. The exemption applies to all seed and seedling varieties entering through Indonesia's official ports.

The duty-free status is conditional on the presence of valid phytosanitary certificates and proper origin documentation. The measure seeks to lower production costs for farmers and improve the quality of domestic planting material.

By removing import duties, input costs for agriculture are expected to decline, enabling higher farm productivity and supporting Indonesia's food security objectives.
