IKPI Urges DPR to Pass Tax Consultant Law Quickly
November 11, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The Indonesian Tax Consultants Association (IKPI) urged the House of Representatives to pass the Tax Consultant Law promptly. The appeal was made during a public hearing of the House’s Commission XI on 11 November 2025. IKPI chairman Vaudy Starworld highlighted the urgency of the legislation.
Currently, tax consultants are governed only by a Ministry of Finance regulation, leaving their legal status ambiguous. IKPI pointed out that professions such as public accountants, lawyers, and notaries already have dedicated statutes. The proposed law would define competence standards and practice rules for tax consultants.
Enacting the Tax Consultant Law would provide a legal framework for consultants, protecting taxpayers and enhancing professional credibility. Legal certainty is also expected to boost investor confidence and state revenue. IKPI asked that the bill be prioritized in the 2025‑2029 legislative agenda.
