Home Ministry Bars Land Tax Hikes, DGT Warns of Scams
November 1, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

On 1 November 2025 the Ministry of Home Affairs issued Regulation No. 14/2025 directing local governments to refrain from raising land and building tax assessments or the sales value of taxable objects in the preparation of the 2026 regional budgets. The regulation serves as the reference for drafting regional revenue and expenditure budgets (APBD) for 2026.
The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) warned taxpayers about fraudulent Coretax download links and stressed the importance of integrity among tax officials. Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court dismissed a judicial review of pension tax provisions, finding the application lacked sufficient precision.
The ban aims to prevent additional tax burdens on low‑income households, while the DGT alert seeks to protect taxpayers from online scams. The court’s decision maintains the current pension tax framework, providing certainty for employers and retirees.
