Government to Draft Global-Aligned Financial Health Framework

JAKARTA, 28 November 2025 – The Indonesian government is preparing a national financial health framework. The framework will be aligned with global practice and the principles of the OECD and G‑20, according to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.

The initiative aims to raise financial literacy, expand financial inclusion and strengthen digital capabilities of the population. It will focus on consumer protection, responsible financial products and data‑driven policy making. In 2024, financial inclusion reached 92.74 % while financial literacy was only 66.64 %.

The government expects the framework to stabilize household finances and avoid reduced consumption that could lead to costly debt. Dutch Queen Maxima warned that declining financial health can disrupt financial sector stability and hinder the 2045 development agenda. The framework’s implementation will be continuously monitored.
