JAKARTA – Deputy Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso announced on 9 December 2025 that the government will refine the Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI) for 2025. The dissemination event, attended by about 800 representatives from Kadin, Apindo, business associations, and legal and business consultants, was co‑hosted by the Ministry of Investment, BPS, and the Cabinet Secretariat.

KBLI is revised every five years in line with the Committee of Experts on International Statistical Classification (CEISC) recommendation, with the latest version released by BPS in 2020. The government identified four key considerations: global economic dynamics creating new sectors, digital transformation including AI, content creators and crypto assets, new business models such as Factoryless Goods Producers (FGP), and environmental issues like Carbon Capture Storage (CCS).

KBLI 2025 will serve as the primary reference for the 2026 Economic Census, business licensing through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system, and the Investment Priority List for central and regional authorities. The update aims to improve statistical relevance and streamline licensing procedures for enterprises.
