November 1, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The Government, through Government Regulation No. 43 of 2025 on Financial Reporting, defined eligibility requirements for candidates of the Implementing Committee of the Financial Reporting Standards Committee. The regulation was released on 1 November 2025.
Article 30 of the regulation lists seven criteria, including Indonesian citizenship, good moral integrity, legal capacity, at least ten years of experience in accounting or finance, in‑depth knowledge of accounting principles, taxation and International Financial Reporting Standards, and no conviction of a crime carrying a prison term of five years or more. Members of the Management and Advisory Sub‑committee must demonstrate managerial ability, while members of the Sharia Accounting Standards Sub‑committee must possess knowledge of Sharia accounting.
These requirements aim to ensure competent and trustworthy committee members, which will affect the quality of national financial reporting standards. For accountants, businesses, and tax authorities, the criteria serve as a benchmark for appointing qualified standard‑setting personnel.
