DJP Records Decline in New Taxpayer Extensification 2024

The Directorate of Taxes reported that 72,640 new taxpayers were added through extensification in 2024, a 1.34% decline from 73,631 in 2023.

Extensification is a supervisory activity targeting taxpayers who meet subjective and objective criteria but have not yet registered for a Tax Identification Number (NPWP). The process uses external, internal, and field‑collected data to compile a Target List for Extensification (DSE).

In 2024, total registered taxpayers reached 79.35 million, comprising 5.12 million corporations, 73.34 million individuals and 878,472 government entities, indicating the overall tax base size.
