The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has pledged to accelerate tax arrears collection before the end of 2025. In the current fiscal year, arrears rose to IDR 139.83 trillion, of which IDR 81.29 trillion have been paid, and net tax receivables for 2024 were recorded at IDR 35.25 trillion in the Central Government Financial Report.

DJP will use persuasive email blasts and active collection measures, including warning letters, forced letters, asset seizure, account blocking, and garnishment. It also plans to block 201 largest defaulter accounts holding about IDR 60 trillion in arrears, block an additional 15 large accounts, and restrict access to the Legal Entity Administration System – Administrative Legal Uniform (SABH AHU) and non‑tax state revenue (PNBP) services.

The initiative is backed by cooperation with law‑enforcement agencies, the Ministry of Finance, banks, and the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), as well as upgrades to data infrastructure and an automatic blocking system. These actions aim to restore state finances more quickly and strengthen taxpayer compliance.
