DJBC Seizes 87 Containers of Palm Oil Oplosan Rp28.7 Billion

Indonesia’s Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) seized 87 containers of fatty matter (total oil) on 6 November 2025 at Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta. The cargo weighed 1,802 tonnes and was valued at approximately Rp28.7 billion. The seizure followed the discovery that the shipment did not comply with the Export Notification (PEB).
Joint inspections by the Bogor Institute of Agriculture and the Police Task Force (Satgasus Polri) revealed that the fatty matter was a plant‑based blend containing palm‑oil (CPO) derivatives. Although the PEB declared the product exempt from export duties and not a restricted item (Lartas), laboratory analysis proved otherwise. Consequently, DJBC and law‑enforcement agencies detained the containers for further investigation.
The action underscores the Ministry of Finance, the Directorate General of Taxation, DJBC, and Satgasus Polri’s commitment to tighten oversight of palm‑oil exports and prevent state revenue loss. Ongoing investigations will examine the exporter and gather additional evidence. Such enforcement is intended to improve exporter compliance and safeguard national income.
