The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) published its 2024 Annual Report on 2 December 2025, recording 45 heavy disciplinary decisions. Among them, 39 civil servants were dismissed with honor not at their request. The data were released in Jakarta.
Heavy discipline covered demotion for one rank for 12 months (four cases), temporary removal from position for 12 months (two cases), and dismissal (39 cases). Medium‑level discipline accounted for 44 decisions, mainly salary or rank postponements, while light discipline comprised 157 decisions such as oral or written warnings and statements of dissatisfaction. The most frequent violations were work‑hour breaches (153 cases), followed by receipt of gifts, SOP breaches, document falsification, marriage rules, and indecency.
The figures illustrate DGT’s effort to reinforce staff accountability and curb internal misconduct, which should bolster taxpayer confidence in tax administration. No new regulatory changes were announced. The authority will continue monitoring compliance.
