Container Scanner Boosts Speed of Port Cargo Inspections
November 11, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa visited the Tanjung Perak Customs Office in Surabaya on 11 November 2025. He said the use of a container scanner (cargo‑container imaging system) will make import and export inspections more efficient.
The scanner was installed about two weeks earlier and operates under Ministry Regulation No 109/2020, which authorises such technology for customs duties. After its initial rollout at Tanjung Priok Port in December 2024, the system is now being expanded to Tanjung Perak to speed up scanning and improve accuracy.
The deployment is expected to accelerate logistics flow, cut vessel waiting times, and enhance transparency and security of the national supply chain.
