The Indonesian government announced that all expenses related to the country's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co‑operation and Development (OECD) will be covered by the state budget (APBN). The costs include travel, accommodation, meetings, document preparation, coordination, communication, and other OECD activities supporting the accession. The statement was made on 9 December 2025.

The accession roadmap, handed over on 3 May 2024, outlines OECD standards, best practices and core principles that Indonesia must meet. On 3 June 2025 Indonesia submitted an initial memorandum—a self‑assessment document—to OECD Secretary‑General Mathias Cormann, stating that most national regulations align with the 240 OECD legal instruments. Payments will be made against OECD invoices and supporting documents in accordance with applicable laws.

Technical committees of the OECD will issue formal opinions that form the basis for membership, and the accession process is targeted for completion in 2027. Funding from the state budget secures the continuity of long‑term reforms aligned with OECD standards, which could enhance Indonesia’s economic policy and governance.
