Blitar Regency Waives Tax Penalties 1994-2025 in December

Blitar Regency in East Java announced the removal of administrative penalties for local tax arrears dating from 1994 to 2025. The waiver is effective from 4 December to 30 December 2025.

Head of the Regency Tax Office, Asmaningayu Dewi Lintangsari, said the measure aims to accelerate tax revenue targets and ease the financial burden on taxpayers. The normal late‑payment penalty of 1 % per month is suspended during the period for taxes including rural‑urban property tax (PBB‑P2), land acquisition duty (BPHTB), advertisement tax, groundwater tax, non‑metal mineral tax, and specific goods and services taxes for restaurants, hotels, parking, and entertainment.

Taxpayers are urged to settle obligations before 31 December, after which standard penalties resume. The penalty waiver is intended to boost tax compliance and support the region’s economic recovery.
