Annual Tax Return Shifts to Coretax, Account Activation Essential
December 10, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has held tax‑education classes across Indonesia to guide taxpayers in filing the Annual Tax Return (SPT) through the Coretax platform. The sessions took place in November 2025 ahead of the full implementation of Coretax in fiscal year 2026.
To file, taxpayers must (1) activate a Coretax account, which serves as a digital gateway linking the taxpayer’s identity to the updated tax administration system, and (2) obtain a DJP authorization code, an electronic verification code for signing the return. By November 2025, only 5.73 million taxpayers—or 38.76 % of the 14.78 million required—had activated their accounts, indicating limited readiness.
Delaying activation and code creation can expose taxpayers to system bottlenecks during the peak filing period. Early preparation allows draft filing, testing, and technical assistance, helping the Coretax transition proceed smoothly and supporting a more modern tax governance.
