Airlangga Urges Taxpayers to Use Supertax Deduction Incentive

Economy Minister Airlangga Hartarto said on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, that businesses should take advantage of available tax incentives in Indonesia. He delivered the message at a press briefing in Jakarta.

The incentive is the supertax deduction stipulated in Ministerial Regulation No 81/2024. It allows a gross income reduction of up to 300 % of research and development (R&D) expenses and up to 200 % of costs for work‑practice or training, covering 11 focus areas and 105 eligible themes.

Hartarto urged firms not to fear tax audits but to engage a public accounting firm (KAP) to ensure compliance. Wider use of the deduction is expected to boost productivity, competitiveness and tax revenue.
