Tax Authority Still Probing AR Allegations at Tigaraksa Office

Indonesia's tax authority is investigating a taxpayer’s report that an account representative (AR) at the Tigaraksa tax office in Tangerang, Banten, engaged in extortion. The complaint was submitted via the ‘Lapor Pak Purbaya’ WhatsApp channel to the Finance Minister. The tax authority says it has not yet gathered sufficient evidence to confirm the allegation.

Director General of Taxation Bimo Wijayanto said his team is still tracing the truth and has invited the whistleblower for testimony. So far, no concrete data have been found to establish a case. If clarity emerges, the Finance Minister will announce the outcome.

Bimo also ordered the Directorate of Internal Compliance and HR Transformation (KITSDA) to verify the complaint and reaffirmed his commitment to combat fraud within the tax administration. All fraud reports received through ‘Lapor Pak Purbaya’ will be forwarded to KITSDA for action.
