Tax Authority Reviews Special Incentives for Local Film Industry

Director General of Taxation Bimo Wijayanto met with film producers and entrepreneurs who complained about high tax burdens. They argued that tax policy should favor domestic film production over imported titles.

Bimo said the Tax Office will review and draft a special incentive scheme to create a level playing field for the industry. In talks with three associations—PPFI, Aprofi and APFI—he highlighted the need for fair tax treatment between local and imported films.
