Probolinggo Regency Gives DBH CHT 22.4 Billion Rupiah to Farmers

Probolinggo Regency in East Java distributed DBH CHT funds amounting to 22.4 billion rupiah to roughly 16,000 tobacco farmers as cash assistance (BLT) on 31 October 2025. The distribution was overseen by Regent Mohammad Haris, who said the money is the farmers’ rightful share.
DBH CHT (Revenue Sharing from Tobacco Excise) represents 3 % of the national tobacco excise revenue that is allocated to regions. In 2025, East Java received the largest share of DBH CHT, totaling 3.57 trillion rupiah, of which Probolinggo obtained 100.85 billion rupiah.
The cash transfer aims to improve farmers’ income and stimulate local tobacco processing, which could lower reliance on external markets and generate local employment.
