President Prabowo Awards National Hero Title to Ten Figures

President Prabowo Subianto on Monday, 10 November 2025, at the State Palace, formally announced the conferral of the Hero title to ten individuals. The ceremony marked the official recognition of their contributions to Indonesia's independence, sovereignty, and national welfare.

The awards were issued under Presidential Decree No. 116/TK/2025 as part of the 2025 Heroes Day commemorations. Recipients include former President Soeharto, noted for his role as deputy commander of the Yogyakarta militia during the independence era, and former President Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), celebrated for his advocacy of democracy, human rights, and pluralism.

The designation underscores the state’s effort to honor historic figures and reinforces national values for citizens and institutions.
