One Year of Prabowo‑Gibran Administration, Economy Improves

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said Indonesia’s economy is beginning to improve as the Prabowo Subianto‑Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration approaches its first anniversary on 20 October 2025. He made the remarks at a press briefing in Jakarta on 15 October 2025.

Purbaya noted that the government injected a stimulus of Rp200 trillion into banks starting 13 September 2025, which helped lift household consumption in September. The administration also launched 17 economic programs under the “8 + 4 + 5” package, including expanded social assistance and tax incentives, and is preparing additional stimulus measures.

The Directorate General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy estimates GDP growth of 5.5 % in Q4 2025, potentially reaching 5.67 % with extra stimulus, surpassing the World Bank’s 4.8 % forecast. Purbaya emphasized that the government aims to sustain this growth momentum in the coming years.
